Coke Versus Pepsi (Why Coca-Cola is The Better Soft Drink)

Coke Versus Pepsi (Why Coca-Cola is The Better Soft Drink)

By: Samantha Gamez

Coca Cola, an amazing carbonated soft drink that has been around for hundreds of years. It originated in Atlanta, Georgia in 1886, by a pharmacist named John Perbeton. The brand has skyrocketed ever since then and has become a world renowned favorite.

Following that recognition comes a controversial question: Coke or Pepsi?

Now, in my opinion, Coke is 100 times better than Pepsi. It has occurred to me that people who prefer Pepsi are much more bland eaters. For example, Coke is a higher carbonated drink. Pepsi is a little flat, taking into account the softer side of soft drinks. Not only that, but Coke has this amazing sweetness to it followed by the perfect amount of carbonation that makes you thirsty for more. Pepsi, on the other hand, makes me thirsty for water, since it leaves your mouth too sugary, since it has extra added sugars. Also, as you can see, Coke has less calories, so it is much healthier in my opinion. And, as the saying goes, sometimes less is more. In this case, less is way more. Now, let's get into the public's opinion. According to mashed.com, “About one in three people think Pepsi is better than Coke.” Not only that, but, “Coke… has won blind taste tests and is hailed for its perfect carbonation, sweet flavor, and refreshing overall quality”. All in all, most people can’t tell the difference between the two colas. But, what I can tell you is that Coke is a clear winner and will always be.

Now, here's a small poll to get a deeper look into our community's taste in cola. So, please take the time to answer the quick question below. Thank you! https://forms.gle/eZqVRKrTY4HVozpB7
