As the wildfire season approaches, new technology is helping us combat it more and more every year. Although wildfires do have some helpful properties in regards to our environment, they are more generally destructive. When fighting this natural disaster, finding out where exactly the fire expands to and finding a plan to execute can be difficult.
New advancements in drone technology actually allow drones to see through smoke with cost effective thermal imagery technology according to the IFW (Industrial Fire World). This is an extremely beneficial tool for firefighters to gain information without putting anybody directly at risk. Wildfire prevention and controlling is vital for keeping our local environments healthy and keeping our citizens secure.
